[08/24/07 – Satellite Today] ND SatCom is introducing a newly designed Internet Protocol (IP)TV contribution solution, the company announced Aug. 23.
The system for IPTV applications includes ND Satcom’s SkyRay Light antenna subsystem, an antenna pointing system and SkyWan Compact satellite modem.
The system will will allow live video contribution and video streaming based on MPEG-4/H.264.
“It is a unique package for broadcasters and media companies equipping their EB teams or upgrading their [electronics newsgathering] vehicles with a satellite uplink to produce and transmit live IPTV content at comparably high quality and reasonable cost,” Ulrich Kiebler, ND SatCom’s vice president for government & commercial activities, said in a statement.
