USGS Project Makes Landsat Data Available Over The Web
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) will begin releasing certain Landsat 7 images of the United States via the Web June 4, the agency announced May 25. The images can be accessed at either glovis.usgs.gov or earthexplorer.usgs.gov.

The Web-enabled distribution of new and recently acquired data is a pilot project for the Landsat Data Continuity Mission, the next generation Landsat spacecraft that is scheduled to be operational in 2011. The project will allow the user community to help refine the distribution system for the new spacecraft.
