Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd. is providing a broadband satellite communications network and services for the Nigerian national elections under a contract from Win Telecom Security Systems Nigeria Ltd., Gilat announced April 26.
The Gilat SkyEdge VSAT network, which includes a hub and more than 1,000 solar-powered terminals, provides a high-speed data and voice communications transmission backbone between national election headquarters in Nigeria's capital, Abuja, and 36 state capitals as well as all local government sites throughout the country.
