Eagle Broadband Inc. lost $3.5 million in its 2007 first quarter, up from a loss of $2.6 million in the same period a year ago, the company announced Jan. 16.
The higher net loss primarily was due to $695,000 in interest expense, while revenues also slipped over the period, from $1.3 million in the 2006 first quarter to $968,000 in the most recent three months.
“While revenues for the quarter fell short of our goals, our continued efforts to reduce costs resulted in an improvement in our results from continuing operations,” Dave Micek, Eagle Broadband’s president and CEO, said in a statement.
