What are the dates for SATELLITE 2009?

SATELLITE 2009 Conference and Exhibition is Tuesday, March 24, 2009 through Friday, March 27, 2009. The Pre-Conference Program is Tuesday, March 24, 2009. The Exhibition, Conference and Forums are Wednesday - Friday, March 25 - 27, 2009.

What are the times for the Exhibition?

The Exhibit Hall is open the following hours:

11 a.m. - 5:45 p.m. Wednesday, March 25

Does SATELLITE 2009 offer military discounts?

Yes! Active military and federal, state and local government employees qualify for the military discounted rate of $799 for the 2-day Military Forum, $959 for the Individual Conference and $1499 for the Full Conference. To obtain the military and government rate, simple select the option during the online registration process and please remember to bring your valid military or government ID to the event.  Contractors do not qualify for military discounts.

What is the dress code?

Business formal is encouraged for all events at SATELLITE 2009 Conference and Exhibition. Military personnel are encouraged to wear duty uniform.

How do I get to the Walter E. Washington Convention Center?

Washington is surrounded by three major airports, Amtrak and a first-rate subway system, Metro.

Whenever possible, we recommend that you take public transportation to and from the Walter E. Washington Convention Center as there is very limited parking around the center.

By Metro

If traveling by Metro, the Walter E. Washington Convention Center is the Mt. Vernon Square/7th Street/Convention Center stop on the yellow and green lines. Entrance/Exits for the Metro are located inside of the convention center. For more information and to plan your route, visit the Metro Ride Guide.

By Car

The Walter E. Washington Convention Center is located between 7th and 9th Streets and N Street and Mt. Vernon Place in downtown DC, right across from the new City Museum. For detailed directions, visit the Walter E. Washington Convention Center web site.

From Virginia and Points South:

  • Take I-495 to 395.
  • Take 395 North to Washington, DC.
  • Follow 395 North across the 14th Street Bridge.
  • Stay to the right lanes.
  • Proceed across the 14th Street Bridge to Independence Avenue.
  • Turn right on Independence Avenue and proceed 2 blocks to 7th Street.
  • Turn left on 7th Street and proceed 10 blocks to Mt. Vernon Avenue.
  • Turn left on Mt. Vernon Place.
  • The Walter E. Washington Convention Center will be on your right.

From Maryland

  • Take I-95 South to the Baltimore-Washington Parkway (exit 22B) toward Washington.
  • Take the Washington exit – US 50 West (exit is on the right).
  • US 50 West becomes New York Avenue.
  • Proceed on New York Avenue.
  • New York Avenue becomes Mt. Vernon Place.
  • The Walter E. Washington Convention Center will be on your right.

From Other Points North and West

  • Take I-495 to I-66.
  • Take I-66 East to Washington, DC.
  • Take the Route 50/Constitution Avenue exit.
  • Proceed on Constitution Avenue to 7th Street
  • Turn left on 7th Street
  • Proceed 9 blocks on 7th Street to Mt. Vernon Avenue
  • Turn left on Mt. Vernon Avenue.
  • The Walter E. Washington Convention Center will be on your right.

Parking Information

Whenever possible, we recommend that you take public transportation to and from the Walter E. Washington Convention Center as there is very limited parking in and around that area. If you plan to drive, allow for plenty of time to park. A map and listing of nearby parking lots is available.

Can I transfer my registration to someone else at my company?

Yes, SATELLITE 2009 accepts registration substitutions. Please send substitution requests in writing to SATELLITE 2009, 4 Choke Cherry Road, 2nd Floor, Rockville, MD 20850 or inquiry@SATELLITE2009.com.

How do I cancel my registration, and what is the cancellation policy?

Cancellations must be made in writing. Cancellations made after October 1, 2008 will be subject to a cancellation fee of $600. Registrants who cancel after January 23, 2009 will be liable for the full conference registration fee. Non-payment or non-attendance does not constitute cancellation. Please send cancellation requests in writing to SATELLITE 2009, 4 Choke Cherry Road, 2nd Floor, Rockville, MD 20850 or inquiry@SATELLITE2009.com.
