Mobile Satellite Ventures Unveils SMART System For Law Enforcement

Mobile Satellite Ventures (MSV) has launched its Satellite Mutual Aid Radio Talkgroup (SMART) system on the company’s nationwide push-to-talk satellite network for the U.S. Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), MSV announced Aug. 6.
The SMART system allows law enforcement and public safety officials to participate in a nationwide two-way satellite radio talk group. Using MSV’s proprietary satellite technology, each group member can either listen to or join in the conversation taking place. MSV is making the capability available without additional cost to MSV’s public safety customers.
