Radarsat-2 Passes NRC Aerospace Test

      Radarsat-2 passed an acoustic qualification test by the National Research Council Institute for Aerospace Research, the institute announced May 24.

      The test certified that Radarsat-2, built by MacDonald Dettwiler and Associates Ltd., can withstand the noise environment generated by rocket engines during launch later this year for the Canadian Space Agency (CSA).

      Radarsat-2 is designed to provide C-band radar imagery with ground resolution of 3 to 100 meters.
