Thuraya Slashes Prices

Thuraya plans to re-launch its mobile satellite services in a bid to gain customers while promising significant discounts to existing subscribers, the operator announced June 5.

Branded ThurayaECO, the new service will offer savings to customers in 77 countries as Thuraya intends its new pricing initiatives to significantly enhance price perceptions about satellite telecom offerings.

Compared to Thuraya’s mainstream prepaid service, ThurayaECO rates will be nearly 70 percent cheaper for calls between fellow Thuraya users, and save as much as 55 percent for national calls.
