Ministers responsible for space activities among the European Space Agency’s (ESA) member states will meet May 22 with officials responsible for the internal market, industry and research in the European Union’s (EU) Competitiveness Council to adopt the European Space Policy, the ESA announced May 16.

The policy is intended to establish a formal framework for technologies and standards which Europe’s space industries and the EU’s Community Research & Development Information Service would abide in order to best pool their resources and maintain the cost-effectiveness and competitiveness of Europe’s space industries.
