Hispasat, Portugal Telecom to Broadcast Key Soccer Matches in 4K

[Via Satellite 05-18-2016] Hispasat has reached an agreement with Portugal Telecom‘s MEO television platform to broadcast the Champions League Final in 4K format on the Sport TV channel as well as eight of the most important matches of the UEFA Euro 2016 on the RTP 4K channel. The first match to be broadcast in Ultra High Definition (Ultra-HD) will be the Real Madrid versus Atletico de Madrid match. The top UEFA Euro 2016 matches include the opening match between France and Hungary, the quarterfinals, semi-finals and finals, which will be held in Paris on July 10.

Both sporting events will be broadcast on the Portuguese MEO platform via the Hispasat 30W 5 satellite. Additionally, the agreement between the two companies includes airing the Hispasat 4K television channel within the Portuguese platform’s service offering.
