SES Launches Indian TV Channel in Germany, TERN on Sky

[Via Satellite 0407-2016] SES has entered long-term partnerships with Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited (ZEEL) in India and TV Entertainment Reality Network (TERN) in the Netherlands to launch new channels. With ZEEL, SES subsidiary SES Platform Services entered into an agreement to launch a new Free-to-Air (FTA) television channel in Germany in both SD and HD by mid-year. TERN has partnered with SES for additional capacity to launch its HD channel Insight on the Sky digital platform.

ZEEL is using SES satellites at Astra 19.2 degrees East to reach 18 million households in Germany, as well as 2.5 million German-speaking households in Austria and Switzerland. TERN, through SES satellites at Astra 28.2 degrees East, will broadcast Insight in HD to subscribers of Europe’s leading entertainment company in the U.K. and Ireland.
