[Via Satellite 12-15-2014] The public television broadcasters Ceska Televize (CT) of the Czech Republic and RTVS of Slovakia are collaborating with Czech digital infrastructure provider Ceske Radiokomunikace to test Ultra-HD broadcasts using SES’ Astra 3B satellite. SES recently joined the Ultra HDTV Forum, of which CT, RTVS, Ceske Radiokomunikace and other regional broadcasting companies are members. The forum began in October 2013 with the main responsibility of evaluating at the production and distribution of Ultra-HD content in Czech Republic and Slovakia.

“Ceska Televize believes that the adoption of Ultra-HD will be much faster than HD and is eager to make sure it arrives soon in the Czech Republic.” said Ivo Ferkl, chief technical officer at Ceska Televize.
