Raytheon Unveils Landshield GPS Anti-Jam Technology

[Via Satellite 10-14-2014] Raytheon has released its most enhanced anti-jamming capability for Global Positioning System (GPS) satellites. Named Landshield, the new system simultaneously provides anti-jam capability for the L1 and L2 GPS frequencies. Landshield includes an integrated antenna array based on a proven Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC). Raytheon intends to deliver systems to the United States government for evaluation in early 2015.

Landshield was developed for the U.S. Army‘s Assured Position Navigation and Timing (APNT) program. A presidential directive has created an initiative to enable U.S. forces to operate GPS technology in denied or constrained environments. According to Raytheon, the new GPS-AJ systems could be integrated into almost 40 percent of U.S. Army land vehicles. The Landshield system can also operate under rotor modulation conditions on combat helicopters.
