[Via Satellite 08-18-2014] In a new agreement with the Africable and Media Plus-led consortium of West African broadcasters, SES will provide satellite capacity on two transponders for Direct-to-Home (DTH) television. SES will offer a bouquet of 80 Free-to-Air (FTA) channels to the West African Economic and Monetary Union (also known by the French acronym UEMOA).

Viewers can receive satellite-based content through a dual tuner receiver, MPEG 4 and Digital Video Broadcasting – Second Generation Satellite / Second Generation Terrestrial (DVB-S2/T2), in order to connect with national Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) networks already in place.

SES will begin the rollout on Oct. 1, 2014 in Mali, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast and Niger. Dual tuner receivers are included in the offer.
