[Via Satellite 08-01-2014] Pilipinas Global Network Limited (PGN Limited) has entered an agreement with Measat for capacity on the Measat 3 satellite. PGN Limited, a joint venture between Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT) and major Philippine terrestrial channel provider ABC Development Corporation (ABC5), intends to expand internationally via satellite, increasing its distribution to more than 120 countries through Measat 3’s global beam.

The company plans to broadcast Aksyon TV International, a news and Philippine sports channel, and Kapatid TV5 a general entertainment channel, by satellite. Both run 24 hours a day in the Tagalog language.

“Measat 3’s established orbital location is already accessible to many pay TV operators and we look forward to bringing our homegrown content across to more Filipinos all over Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Africa,” said Claro Carmelo Ramirez, president and CEO of PGN Limited.
