[Via Satellite 04-23-2014] PT. Digital Media Asia has launched a new prepaid Direct-to-Home (DTH) satellite service with AsiaSat. The service, called VIVA+, targets the Indonesian pay-TV market using multiple Ku-band transponders on AsiaSat 5.

VIVA+ initially offers two channels in HD and 35 in SD. Nine of these channels have been designated as the “Ultimate World Cup Channels” and will broadcast the FIFA World Cup, which occurs from June 12 to July 13, 2014 in Brazil. Additionally the package includes a variety of domestic and international channels ranging from news, sports and entertainment to religious and children’s programs.

“Indonesia has one of Asia’s fastest growing pay-TV markets and we look forward to supporting VIVA+’s service expansion in the near future to capture the enormous potential of this lucrative DTH market,” said William Wade, president and CEO of AsiaSat.
