[Via Satellite 04-04-2014] The Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU) has signed a multi-year contract with Eutelsat Communications for Ku-band capacity on the Eutelsat 21B satellite covering the Middle East, North Africa and Europe.

The capacity will be used to broadcast content exchanges between ASBU member broadcasters in the region between Morocco and Bahrain and from the Mediterranean to Yemen. It will also extend the footprint from Sudan and Mauritania to Europe.

The service will use cost-effective antennas that enable three SD carriers to be transmitted in DVB S2 or one HD and two SD carriers.
