IDC Appoints Former BlackBerry EVP to Board of Directors

[Via Satellite 03-25-2014] International Datacasting Corporation (IDC) has appointed David Smith, former executive vice president of enterprise mobile computing at BlackBerry to its board of directors. Smith has been in the technology and telecommunications industry for more than 30 years. He led the introduction of the BlackBerry Enterprise Server for devices including Apple, Android and BlackBerry 10 devices. He also served as a business and technology leader on products and services for Bell-Northern Research and Nortel.
“David is a world-class technology leader. His knowledge of key technologies such as data networking and wireless applications will add important insights to IDC’s future direction,” said IDC President and CEO Doug Lowther. “In addition to serving as a board member, David will work closely with management to develop IDC’s future technology direction. I look forward to working closely with him at IDC.”
