[Via Satellite 10-29-13] Panasonic Avionics Corporation has selected NewCom International’s new teleport in Peru to be the facility of excellence and manage its aeronautical broadband coverage in South America. This decision comes as Panasonic has decided to expand its aeronautical broadband service over Latin America.

NewCom will be providing the services to enhance in-flight entertainment in the region. The company’s new facility is located in the city of Lima, Peru, which has a low annual precipitation rate, making satellite coverage more easily attainable for the entire region.

“As we expand our customer base and add more airlines that are located in this rapidly expanding region or fly missions over this area of the world, we will continue to ensure our ability to deliver the highest bandwidth for the lowest possible cost. The first rate teleport in Lima was key to accomplishing this important business objective,” said David Bruner, vice president of global communications devices for Panasonic Avionics Corporation.
