      Hughes, Intelsat Deliver Rural Cellular Backhaul Services In Brazil

      Hughes Telecommunicacoes do Brasil signed an agreement with Intelsat to deliver a managed cellular backhaul solution in Brazil.
          The system, which will be managed by Hughes and employ the HX System, will enable cellular service providers to cost-effectively extend cell networks to rural areas and sparsely populated regions. Intelsat will supply C-band capacity on Intelsat 901 and other spacecraft in the Atlantic Ocean region.

      Intelsat, iDirect Deploy Telemedicine Network For Morocco

      Intelsat Ltd. and iDirect Inc. have deployed a satellite-based telemedicine network to improve medical treatment processes in Morocco.
          The Moroccan Children’s Telemedicine Network will connect Children’s National Medical Center in Washington D.C., with medical institutions throughout Morocco.
          The network is built on the iDirect satellite communications platform and is delivered through Intelsat’s Fuchsstadt, Germany, teleport with Ku-band satellite capacity on the Intelsat 901 satellite.

      Lunasat, Satlynx Offer Broadband To Middle East, Africa

      Satlynx and Lunasat are introducing a range of broadband services in the Middle East and African markets.
          The services offered by Lunasat, which are based on the Satlynx Direct platform,  build on VSAT hub and modem technologies from iDirect and the Satlynx teleport facilities in Leuk, Switzerland. The Leuk teleport hosts the VSAT hub and has direct terrestrial connections to London and New York, giving end users direct access to the U.S. and European Internet backbones.

      MSV Chooses Axiom, Active CatalogT For OSS/BSS Service

      Mobile Satellite Ventures has chosen Axiom Systems and Active CatalogT to design, assemble and deliver new services for MSV’s next-generation satellite-terrestrial network.
          Axioss, a service fulfillment platform, and Active Catalog, which extends the Axioss approach and product lifecycle management processes, will be key elements of the operational support systems/business support systems MSV is developing.
