      Gilat  To Supply Broadband Network For Bharti Airtel

      Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd. received a contract to supply Bharti Airtel with a broadband satellite network.

          Bharti will use the network, which includes 13,000 SkyEdge IP VSATs, to offer information and communications services for customers in India’s Gujarat State.

      L-3 Wins U.S. Navy Contract

      L-3 Communications Systems-West has been awarded a $13.8 million contract to provide the U.S. Navy with life cycle sustainment of the Deployable Multi-Channel Satellite Communications System.

          The contract includes quad-band satellite terminals, terminal IP upgrades, IP baseband interface modules, Ka-band upgrades, spares and replacement components.

          The contract includes options which could bring the value up to $65.7 million.

      SkyPort, Digital Networks Partner For Connectivity

      SkyPort Global Communications signed a three-year, $1.7 million contract to provide satellite connectivity to Digital Network LLC customers.

          SkyPort will provide voice, data, video and broadband services to oil and gas clients at energy facilities throughout Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, North Dakota, New Mexico and Colorado.

      Telespazio Wins Iraq Contract

      Telespazio won a contract to build a satellite services center to support the activities of Italian organizations, companies and institutions working in Iraq.

          Under the contract from the Italian Foreign Ministry, Telespazio will provide broadband satellite communication services that enable data and voice transmission, Internet, videoconferencing, telemedicine and distance learning.
