[Satellite TODAY 09-28-11] Surrey Satellite Technology Ltd. (SSTL) will sponsor the five-day 62nd International Astronautical Congress (IAC) in Cape Town, South Africa, SSTL announced Sept. 27.
The company said it would present a research report, “First light for the NigeriaSat-2 imaging mission,” during the event and following the launch of Nigeria’s first high resolution Earth Observation satellite into the African Resource Monitoring constellation (ARM).
NigeriaSat-2 is SSTL’s first 300kg class satellite, which uses extra capacity to provide 2.5m panchromatic and 5m multi-spectral resolution imaging to support multi-mode operations and missions.
SSTL also said it would present more than 12 papers during the event, on topics including optical imaging payloads, altimetry and low cost spacecraft for situational awareness.
