[Satellite TODAY 04-28-10] Northrop Grumman has decided to relocate its corporate offices to Virginia, the company announced April 27.
Northrop Grumman CEO Wes Bush said that while Maryland and the District of Columbia had competitive offers, “our final decision was driven largely by facility considerations, proximity to our customers and overall economics.”
The company expects to begin operations in the new office in summer 2011 with about 300 people.  Northrop Grumman employs 40,000 people in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Northrop Grumman’s aerospace operations, with about 30,000 employees, will remain in Los Angeles.
