RSCC Appoints New Director General

[Satellite Today – 6-17-08] The Russian Satellite Communications Company (RSCC) has appointed Alexey V. Ostapchuk as its new director general, the operator said, June 17. RSCC said that Ostapchuk took over the running of the company last week.
    Previously, Ostapchuk had worked as commercial manager and then as director general of CJSC GlobalTel, which is the exclusive operator of the Globalstar satellite system in the Russian Federation. The company is a subsidiary of OJSC Rostelecom and Globalstar L.P. During that period the company increased the number of subscribers from 4,000 to 40,000 and implemented several national and regional rural telephony projects in the Russian Federation. Ostapchuk was at CJSC GlobalTel between 2002 and 2008.
