By Staff Writer | February 27, 2008

[Satellite Today – 2-27-08] Northrop Grumman Corp. and Space Systems/Loral (SS/L) are pursuing a group of initiatives, which the two companies hope will broaden their opportunities to provide the U.S. government with cost competitive satellite systems, Northrop announced Feb. 27.
The agreement will also allow SS/L to expand its manufacturing capacity as needed, in order to address near-term increased satellite demand, through use of the satellite test facilities and services at Northrop Grumman facilities in Redondo Beach, Calif.
"The agreement with Northrop Grumman will allow SS/L to cost-effectively add capacity to address increased near-term commercial satellite opportunities," said Pat DeWitt, CEO for SS/L in a statement. "The agreement will also streamline the process for our companies to collaborate on providing the world’s best satellites for both civil and defense applications."
