Ergen Takes Over Dish Network

[Satellite Today – 2-6-08] Charlie Ergen, chairman  and CEO of Dish Network Corp. and EchoStar Corp., has replaced Carl Vogel as president of Dish Network, the company announced Feb. 5.
    Vogel stepped down due to personal reasons but will remain vice chairman of Dish Network and EchoStar and continue to lead the corporate development, programming and business, and commercial services functions.
    Additionally, Erik Carlson has been named executive vice president, operations, and Tom Stingley was named executive vice president, sales and distribution.
    Carlson, who has worked at EchoStar since 1995, will oversee Dish Network’s home and commercial installations, customer service centers, internal customer billing, and equipment retrieval and refurbishment operations. Carlson previously served as senior vice president of retail services and sales.
    Stingley, who joined EchoStar in 1995, previously served as senior vice president of alliance management.
