Video Performance Paces Eutelsat Results

[10-23-07 – Satellite Today] Eutelsat has seen solid revenue growth in the quarter to the end of Sept. 30. This was one of the highlights of its first quarter results, which the company announced Oct. 23.

For the first quarter, the operator had revenues of close to 212 million euros ($302.32 million), a 6.2 percent increase compared to the same quarter last year. Performance in the video arena was the catalyst behind this growth. In the quarter, Eutelsat generated just over 158 million euros ($225.31 million) of revenues from video applications, a near 11 percent increase compared to last year.

However, it was not all good news for the operator. Revenues from data services, 40.8 million euros ($58.19 million) in the quarter were down nearly nine percent compared to the same quarter last year.
