Richmond To Head Orbital Sciences’GEO Unit

      [09-21-07 – Satellite Today] Christopher Richmond has been promoted to senior vice president as well as the head of      Orbital Sciences Corp.’s commercial geosynchronous (GEO) satellite business unit, the company announced Sept. 19.

      Richmond formerly was vice president of GEO Satellite Programs, where he oversaw the technical, schedule and cost performance of all active GEO satellite programs.

      Orbital also named Amer Khouri vice president of marketing and business development for the commercial GEO satellite business. Khouri has worked in the commercial satellite industry since 1995, most recently working for Decision Strategies International Inc., a management consulting company he joined in 2006. Prior to that, Khouri worked for Intelsat.
