QinetiQ Launches MAIA

[09-11-07 – Satellite Today] QinetiQ has developed a secure tracking system based on Iridium satellites, the company announced Sept. 11.
The Mobile Asset Information Acquisition (MAIA) system provides a secure, end-to-end asset tracking and is based on global positioning systems tracking technology. MAIA’s three core elements are all developed from commercial off the shelf-based equipment and do not require any direct electrical connections to the host platform. The unit is powered via an internal rechargeable battery pack.
