Apax Acquires Telenor, Spins Off Vizada

[9-6-07 -  Satellite  Today] Apax Partners has successfully completed its acquisition of Telenor Satellite Services and is incorporating the company into the Vizada brand, the company announced Sept. 6.

The new Vizada brand combines two industry veterans, the former Telenor Satellite Services and the former France Telecom Mobile Satellite Communications (FTMSC) and provides customized and off-the-shelf two-way satellite communications services.

Vizada will be organized into two lines of business, mobile satellite services, offering standardized communications solutions and fixed satellite solutions, which will sell very small aperture terminals (VSAT) and integrated hybrid networks.
