Norsat Unveils Portable Satellite Terminal

[07/23/08 – Satellite Today] Norsat International Inc. has released its Norsat Rover, a single backpack portable satellite terminal, the company announced Aug. 22.
The terminals is the first product in the company’s new Rover Family (TM), a line of ultra portable satellite terminal systems. The Norsat Rover fits into a single extended-mission backpack and includes a segmented carbon fiber antenna; a high precision, low-profile tripod; modem; low noise block down-converter; block up converter and a satellite alignment aid which includes a spectrum analyzer and DVB-S receiver. The Rover is available with a 1-meter Ku-band antenna, and Norsat is developing antennas with different sizes and frequency band capabilities.
