ViaSat Opens Office In Spain

After watching the international business opportunities for its Satellite Ground Systems (SGS) group grow substantially during the past year, ViaSat Inc. [VSAT] opened a business-development office in Europe, located near Malaga, Spain. The office will support provide Europe, the Middle East, Africa and India. Major European SGS customers include EADS Astrium, Telespazio, Swedish Space Corporation, and Marconi Selenia.

Phil Lancaster transferred from the Norcross, Ga. home office to become director/ European Business Development. The Britain-born Lancaster has worked for ViaSat SGS (including the former Scientific-Atlanta business unit) for more than 15 years. (Bruce Rowe, ViaSat Inc., 760/476-2505)
