SatLynx Suffers A Further Blow With New Departure

By Staff Writer | March 15, 2004

SatLynx, a two-way, European, satellite broadband joint venture, lost its second key executive in less than a year. In this latest departure, Robert Feierbach left to become the executive director of Eutelsat’s IP services affiliate, Skylogic Italia.

Skylogic Italia operates one of the leading satellite broadband platforms out of Italy. The platform, based in Turin, can offer a range of broadband services, from multicasting audio to video and data.

Feierbach’s resignation as vice president of corporate and DTH services at SatLynx follows that of former SatLynx CEO Yves Elsen.

Paul Heinerscheid replaced Elsen, and he continues to lead SatLynx, a joint venture formed in April 2002 to serve the enterprise, consumer and small office/home office (SoHo) markets throughout Europe.

“I can see Eutelsat’s strong commitment to Skylogic Italia in terms of engineering, operational and financial resources, and the strength of its space segment provision through its extensive worldwide fleet of satellites,” Feierbach said. “With this expertise, I look forward to seeing Skylogic develop into a leading, satellite-based, broadband IP- services organization.”
