Russia Explores Options

      According to local press reports, Russia could relocate military satellite launches from Kazakhstan to northern Russia.

      Russian Space Forces Chief Col. Gen. Anatoly Perminov is in favour of moving all military satellite launches to Plesetsk in northern Russia rather than using the Baikonur Cosmodrome in neighbouring Kazakhstan. Around 50 per cent of military satellite launches currently take place in Kazakhstan.
