Flash Networks Inc. of Holmdel, N.J., a supplier of data optimization and acceleration solutions, said it will provide its technology to Norsat International Inc. [NSAT] of Burnaby, British Columbia, a producer of broadband satellite earth stations.

Norsat plans to integrate Flash Networks’ NettGain technology into its SpectraWorks products to accelerate access to the Internet, Flash Networks officials said. SpectraWorks supplies broadband earth stations and Digital Video Broadcast data hubs.

It expects to incorporate the NettGain 1000 and that it will “dramatically improve the response time and performance of client/server applications and enable quicker access to corporate databases, rapid e-mail access, secure file transfers and improved Web browsing,” according to Flash Networks.

Robert Bucher, Norsat’s president and CEO, said the Flash Networks technology “will help us service our current and new clients by optimizing existing satellite bandwidth and improving performance. We see this as a clear differentiator for both the service provider and the enterprise consumer, and we anticipate great success.”
