The European Space Agency (ESA) has awarded RadarSat International (RSI) the rights to distribute ERS and Envisat satellite data worldwide.

“This contract gives us an excellent opportunity to build the commercial market toward the Envisat era in 2001. By building on the existing synergy of the ERS and Radarsat 1 programs, we will be able to use the information provided by both satellite programs to further develop the commercial market, in addition to developing new ones,” said Adrian Bohane, director of worldwide sales for RSI.

The distribution area consists of the North and South American markets as well as value-added products and projects to the worldwide market.
