StarBand Communications Inc., formerly Gilat-To-Home, which is building a DBS Internet service, will supply its users with e-mail and messaging through and agreement with Commtouch Software Ltd. [CTCH] of Mountain View, Calif.

Commtouch said it is the leader in outsourced e-mail and integrated messaging, including calendar and address book capabilities, wireless integration and direct marketing applications. It serves more than 17 million e-mail boxes worldwide.

“Messaging is an integral element of any service provider’s suite of offerings, and with StarBand this deal demonstrates our ability to integrate our core capabilities with all types of technology platform providers,” said Gideon Mantel, CEO of Commtouch.

“In addition to selecting Commtouch for its record performance and uptime, we outsourced our e-mail and messaging management needs to them because of their flexible administrative capabilities,” said Zur Feldman, co-chairman and CEO of StarBand.
