Inmarsat Reports Earning $52.5 Million, $5.25 Per Share, In First Half

Inmarsat Ventures Ltd. reported an unaudited net profit of $52.5 million or $5.25 per basic share on revenue of $210.6 for the first half of the year, ending June 30.
This compares with a net profit of $56.8 million or $5.68 per basic share on revenue of $201.3 million for the first six months of 1999.
Net cash from operating activities for the first half of this year amounted to $155.4 million, and net bank balances were $169.3 million as of June 30. In May the company awarded Astrium Ltd. a contract for construction of three satellites for its fourth-generation satellite system.
