KVH Customer V.Group Renews Global NEWSlink Subscription

[Via Satellite 08-15-2016] Maritime service provider V.Group has renewed its subscription to KVH Media Group’s daily NEWSlink service, continuing access to a portfolio of daily and weekly newspaper digests to more than 500 vessels. To kick off the renewal, V.Group opted for NEWSlink’s special editions covering the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil this month.

KVH makes these newspapers available through its IP-MobileCast content delivery service, which uses satellite-based multicasting technology to deliver content via a vessel’s broadband connection without affecting the vessel’s data speed or airtime plan.Each ship has a choice of more than 100 NEWSlink titles ranging from country-specific daily news in more than 20 local languages, to topic-specific content such as healthy living, technology, and automobiles. The NEWSlink titles come in multiple formats through a range of technologies, including compact formats for maritime and other industries where bandwidth is limited or delivery costs are high.
