[Satellite TODAY 03-27-12] iDirect Government Technologies has released a satellite router that meets strict airborne communications requirements for operation on military aircraft, the company announced March 26.

The new e8000 AR airborne router was designed to deliver broadband capabilities for voice, video and data applications that provide support for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, customs and border protection operations and emergency response missions.
The airborne rack-mount router also aims to enable constant connectivity between manned and unmanned aircraft for uninterrupted command and control communications between theaters and the transmission of high-definition imagery from aircraft to soldiers on the ground.
“We have seen a steady increase in intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions by our key customers,” iDirect Government Technologies President John Ratigan said in a statement. “Our sole focus is to deliver the solutions our customers need to support their growing mission-critical applications.”
