Romantis Deploys Satellite Telemedicine Networks to Russia

      [Satellite TODAY 02-10-12] Network equipment provider Romantis has delivered a turnkey satellite telemedicine network to connect Russia’s Regional Centers for Disaster Medicine (RCDM) with the country’s unified national system of prevention and liquidation for emergency situations, the company announced Feb. 9.

         The delivery follows a tender that Romantis won in November 2011 from the Russian Ministry of Health and Social Development to supply satellite networking equipment and telemedicine systems within the framework of Russia’s Federal Target Road Safety Program for 2006-2012.
         Romantis supplied 12 telemedicine complexes to the RCDMs, including UHP VSAT equipment, multi-point videoconferencing systems, mobile communication and telemedicine systems. The company also completed work on delivery, installation, commissioning of equipment and personnel training in cooperation Russian VSAT network operator Zao Race Telecom.
