Astrium Enhances Services for Mining Customers

Astrium Services has enhanced its hybrid communications network offering for mining companies operating in remote areas. The service improvements follow an extension of Astrium Services’ MPLS capabilities through a new Point of Presence (PoP) in Paris.

    A company operating an iron-ore mine and office in Guinea and facilities in London, is Astrium’s first customer to benefit from the extended MPLS capability by ensuring satellite connectivity between production sites and hybrid satellite/terrestrial connectivity to the United Kingdom., via the new PoP in Paris. Combining the extended MPLS connection of Astrium Services with satellite services, the company can deliver high-speed connectivity, which supports optimized mining operations.
