Measat-3a Scheduled for June Launch

By Staff Writer | March 12, 2009

Measat Satellite Systems received confirmation from Intelsat that the Measat-3a satellite has been scheduled for launch in June.
The launch of the satellite on a land launch Zenit-3SLB vehicle, contracted with Intelsat, had been postponed from August due to an incident during pre-launch operations at the launch site.
Measat-3a, manufactured by Orbital Sciences, has been returned to Orbital’s facility in Dulles, Va., where it is undergoing final repairs and testing in preparation for the June launch.
Measat-3a is designed to support growth of the Measat DTH TV and broadcast distribution neighborhood at the 91.5 degrees East orbital slot.
