      Boeing, Artel Partner to Sell Inmarsat Bandwidth to U.S. Government

      Boeing Commercial Satellite Services has entered into a cooperative business agreement with Artel to distribute Inmarsat bandwidth to U.S. government customers via the Inmarsat-3, -4 and -5 satellites. Boeing said it has been working with Artel and potential customers and users to develop Ka-band powered satellite communications solutions for unique applications.

      EM Research Rolls Out LX-7800 Frequency Unit for Military, Commercial Satcom

      Technology developer EM Research has released its new LX-7800 high-volume frequency synthesizer.
         
      The unit operates at a fixed-frequency of 7800 MHz and features low power consumption and an exceptionally low phase noise. The company said the LX-7800 would be made available in low-cost, high-volume tape-and-reel designs for satcom, commercial wireless and military COTS applications.

      Intelsat General Inks Iraqi VSAT Connectivity Subcontract

      L-3 Communications subsidiary 3Di Technologies has selected Intelsat General as a subcontract to provide satellite connectivity to a network of 150 VSAT remote terminals for the Iraqi Ministry of Defense.

      Intelsat General will provide nearly a full transponder of capacity on its IS-901 satellite through the company’s Mountainside teleport in Maryland to the iDirect network terminals in Iraq. The subcontract is part of a larger $80 million indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity award that L-3 Communications signed with the U.S. Army Communications and Electronics Command.

      Raytheon Wins AEHF Terminal Award

      Raytheon’s U.S. Air Force satellite terminal system that provides protected communications to warfighters has received a successful Milestone C decision and subsequent production award. The Minuteman Minimum Essential Emergency Communications Network Program Upgrade (MMPU) is Raytheon’s first Advanced Extremely High Frequency (AEHF) terminal for the Air Force to enter into the production phase.

      UltiSat Added to GSA Small Business Satcom Contract Vehicle

      Satellite communications infrastructure, solutions and teleport services provider UltiSat has been awarded a U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) contract under its Custom Satcom Solutions/Small Business (CS2-SB) program.
