      International Datacasting Corp. (IDC) Adds Lippert and Ata to Board of Directors

      IDC has appointed Del Lippert and Georges Ata to its board of directors, effective immediately. The IDC board now consists of six directors made up of Graham McBride, Frank Ruffolo, Del Lippert and Georges Ata, Adam Adamou and Fred Godard.

      Lippert previously served as president and CEO of Med-Eng Systems, a manufacturer of body protection and electronic counter-measure systems.

      Ata previously served as the president and CEO of Intelcan Technosystems Inc., a Canadian developer of Communications, Navigation, Surveillance (CNS) Air Traffic Management (ATM) and airport infrastructure solutions.

      Inmarsat Names Turner as Director of Media Business

      Inmarsat has appointed Martin Turner as director of Media Business. The company said Turner would spearhead further development of its solutions and strengthen Inmarsat’s relationship with broadcasters.

      Turner previously served as head of newsgathering operations at the BBC, where he was responsible for crew management, technical innovation and satellite-based activities. Turner also previously served as the BBC’s bureau chief in Johannesburg and Washington.

      NewSat American Division Joins SIA

      NewSat America has joined the Satellite Industry Association (SIA) as a new member.

      NewSat America is a subsidiary of Australian satellite communications provider NewSat Ltd., supporting government and military customers throughout the Americas.

      NewSat plans to expand its satellite capabilities with the Jabiru Satellite Program, beginning with the launch of Ku-band service on its Jabiru-2 satellite in the fourth quarter of 2013 and Ka-band service on the Jabiru-1 satellite in the fourth quarter of 2014.
