      Inmarsat Government Gives CEO Position to Helfgott

      Inmarsat Government, a provider of secure, global, mission-critical telecommunications to the U.S. public sector, appointed David Helfgott as CEO. Helfgott will be responsible for the overall business strategy and direction for Inmarsat Government.

      Prior to joining Inmarsat, Helfgott held leadership positions in the satellite communications and intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance (ISR) technology market, including Cobham, where he served as president of the wireless ISR technology business unit; DataPath, where he was president and CEO; and SES Americom Government Services, where he held the position of president and CEO.

      Israel Aerospace Industriezs Elects New President, CEO

      Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) Board of Directors has elected Joseph Weiss as president and CEO of IAI, replacing retiring current president and CEO Itzhak Nissan.

      Weiss’ nomination is pending approval of the Israeli Ministers of Defense and Finance.

      Weiss previously served as corporate vice president and general manager of IAI’s Systems, Missiles and Space Group. Weiss also led the domestic and international marketing of IAI system-of-systems and served in the Israel Navy for 27 years, retiring at the rank of Naval Captain.

      Veramatrix Appoints Ex-Conax Executive

      Verimatrix has appointed Geir Bjørndal to its executive team. Bjørndal will be responsible for significantly increasing the company’s market penetration and visibility with operators looking to take advantage of new generation DVB hybrid networks that include IP and over-the-top (OTT) video delivery, which is a key area of focus for Verimatrix.

      Verimatrix is a provider of content security solutions to pay-TV operators and broadcasters worldwide. Bjørndal has previously played a key role in establishing Conax as one the major players in the conditional access (CA) arena for the last two decades.

      MTN Government Services Brings Turner on Board as Vice President

      MTN Government Services (MTGNS) has appointed Robert Turner as its new vice president of business development and government contract compliance.

      Turner will oversee all business development for MTNGS specifically focusing on revenue growth, contract vehicles, market share, adding new service offerings and aligning more closely with industry partners.

      GlobeCast Hires New Director of North American Sales

      GlobeCast Americas has appointed Edward Ferraro as the company’s new North American director of sales. Ferraro will be responsible for overseeing all permanent and contribution sales activities for GlobeCast across North America, specifically with playout and origination, media asset management, content distribution via satellite and fiber, ad-hoc contribution and special event services.

      Ferraro previously served as vice president of sales and business development at United Service Source, where he was responsible for the company’s broadcast and network services division. Ferraro has also held previous positions as vice president of sales at both VegasHD and Ascent Media Systems and Technology Services.
