[Via Satellite 05-15-2014] Gogo received a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and certification from the Japanese Civil Aviation Bureau (JCAB) to install its Ku-band satellite connectivity service on Japan Airlines’ (JAL) 777-300 aircraft. This is the second type of aircraft from Japan Airlines to receive FAA and JCAB approval. Gogo has made an agreement with JAL to provide connectivity and Gogo Vision, Gogo’s wireless in-flight entertainment services, on domestic fleets for JAL.

“This is another major milestone for Gogo and a big step forward as we continue our progress on the launch of connectivity services for JAL,” said Michael Small, president and CEO of Gogo. “Navigating the FAA and international regulatory bodies to get various connectivity technologies in the market is no small feat.”
