Small UK Island Could Be the Next Premier Spaceport

A study supported by the UK Space Agency revealed the northernmost island in the Shetlands, Unst, could be a promising new spaceport for launching satellites. According to a Sceptre report, rockets launched from the island could carry very large payloads with low risk to inhabitants in the event of a mission failure. But could a new major launch pad be too disruptive for Unst’s small community of 600 residents?
