[Via Satellite 04-24-2014] ViXS’s Ultra High Definition (Ultra-HD) 4K Golden Reference Decoder tool is now available to test, validate and debug plans for the deployment of 4K Ultra-HD content. The tool will allow content producers, service operator technologists, encoder manufacturers and High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) proponents to decipher and demonstrate files from storage or IP networks, up to 4Kp60 HEVC 10-bit.

The tool will help assist users in verifying stream compliance, encoder quality parameters, transport multiplexing parameters, video output quality and compare 8-bit versus 10-bit color depth.

“Our XCode 6400 product embodied in the Ultra-HD Golden Reference Decoder, uniquely enables operators, encoder manufacturers and others to test their networks using the same technology that will soon be deployed in their customer’s homes,” said John Pomeroy, VP, sales, infrastructure and networking, ViXS.
