Hughes Network Systems announced that it will offer its telecommunications products and services under the General Service Administration’s (GSA) Enterprise Infrastructure Solutions (EIS) contract to Level 3 Communications. As a sub-contractor to Level 3, Hughes is offering the suite of HughesOn Managed Network Services for multi-site agencies and departments.

According to the company, the portfolio of managed services can help agencies meet modernization challenges with benefits such as cloud readiness and high network and application performance and availability. By introducing managed broadband in conjunction with existing Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) infrastructure, agencies can realize immediate benefits in the form of a “hybrid” Wide Area Network (WAN). HughesOn includes a managed SD-WAN solution with broadband optimization tools known as ActiveTechnologies.

“Our team can deliver the bandwidth, security and cost savings all the way to the network edge, which is a key requirement for agencies right now. We’re on the doorstep of effectively closing the digital divide for government agencies, which means public service missions will be streamlined for success regardless of location or region,” said David Young, regional vice president of government markets for Level 3.
